Zeller Corporation Golf Outing 2008
Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection (HW-SC) would like to take this opportunity to thank all of Zeller Corporation’s employees, clients, vendors, and friends who participated in the Zeller Tournament Golf Outing 2008, at Shadow Pines Golf Club, on Tuesday, August 12. The event raised $10,575 for HW-SC, which leverages an additional $19,564 in funds from Monroe County to help support this proven program.
Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection was established to help youth stay in school, achieve academic success, and earn their high school diplomas. HW-SC provides Youth Employment Training, including: career exploration, interviewing skills and mock interviews, general office skills, computer skills, customer service skills, and financial literacy. Worksite mentors, such as those at Zeller Corporation, serve as role models and help students further develop employment and interpersonal skills. It is both the businesses that provide students with jobs, and HW-SC youth advocates who create a web of services and support to help students develop the habits, acquire the skills, and demonstrate the desire to become contributing, responsible young people at home, in school, at work, and within the community.
Businesses have discovered that hiring HW-SC students reduces their training and turnover costs and is a fiscally prudent staffing strategy for entry level jobs. HW-SC succeeds through long-term partnerships with the business community.
On behalf of the youth and families served by Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection, thank you for your support!
