ASME Pressure Testing – Carrier Corporation – Syracuse, NY Several test stand control systems used in the automation of ASME pressure testing for a manufacturer of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment was installed. Modicon PLC based systems sequence valves, compressors and vacuum pumps to evacuate vessel or apparatus, then fill according to a time pressure schedule with a variety of air/gas mixtures. Test sequences are pre-configured, or operator entered, and test results are stored and printed. CiTect MMI software provide large capacity systems with user interfaces and generate graphs of test results. This system provides for future integration into plant quality system automation.
