Aeration System Controls
VSG Enviromation has successfully developed a range of system controls for diffused-air aeration systems that assist wastewater plant operators with control of dissolved oxygen levels. The engineers at VSG Enviromation developed OptimAir, which maintains dissolved oxygen levels within narrower operating parameters than standard controllers, while maximizing energy efficiency. OptimAir adjusts the airflow and selects the optimum number of blowers that is most efficient to operate the system.
Bubble Level Controls
VSG Enviromation’s control algorithm for level control is unique when applied with a VFD package. VSG Enviromation designs and manufactures level control systems used in fluid handling applications in water, wastewater treatment, collection and distribution systems. Engineered solutions include level measurement systems for use in process control. The level measurement system is integrated with digital controls that regulate the operation of pumps and valves to maintain levels in tanks and wet wells. Systems for both fixed and variable speed drive applications are provided.
Instrumentation Services
VSG Enviromation provides a full range of instrumentation services. Our service department offers installation, factory authorized field service, maintenance, training and repairs. VSG Enviromation’s trained field technicians will service plants anywhere in the Northeastern United States. Contact us for a quote on an annual service contract for all your instrumentation needs. VSG Enviromation is an authorized reseller of many of the pertinent devices needed to implement your instrumentation applications such as pumps, enclosures, and electrical equipment. VSG Enviromation is also a UL 508A approved panel shop.
Rate of Flow Control Packages
Water and wastewater processes frequently need more advanced controls, which can accommodate operations at varying rates and interruptions in process flows, as well as responding to operating changes at other parts of the process. A rate of flow controller, consisting of flow-metering elements in conjunction with a flow control valve, has been used to automatically regulate flows in water and wastewater plants. Over the years, the manufacture of package rate of flow controllers has nearly vanished, making repair of these devices difficult.
VSG Enviromation provides packaged solutions for operation of rate of flow assemblies. Our package includes: measuring instrumentation, electronic control, logic unit, and valve actuator. Controls can also be provided as replacements for units (BIF and others) that are no longer manufactured. The new system has digital control that interfaces with plant automation systems.
Well Pump Control Systems
VSG Enviromation has developed well pump control systems for water treatment and environmental remediation projects. Typical pump application strategies allow for alternate wells to recover, while pump cycling prevents over pumping. The well level is sensed with a submersible pressure transducer that is monitored by a digital controller at the top. Therefore any level adjustments of pump scheduling can be done without having to change float levels down in the well. From large municipal wells to small groundwater recovery wells, VSG Enviromation can provide a system for your application.
VFD Pump Control Systems
VSG Enviromation has provided many control packages for variable frequency drive (VFD) applications that can be used with bubbler pressure transducer or any other variable input. VSG Enviromation has developed logic that goes beyond the capabilities of standard controllers. Actual pump performance is studied, and logic developed, for each case to provide energy efficient sequencing of the pumps.
VSG Enviromation has developed a unique system that works well for plants with small wet wells, or plants that receive large spikes in flow. VSG Enviromation’s level control monitors react quickly to the rate of changes in wet well levels and pump speed. Instead of waiting for the high level set point (or float) to reach the maximum setting, the controller is monitoring the rate of level is increase and the speed of the operating pumps. Unlike a PID control loop, the VSG Enviromation controller compares the rate of increase in level with the capacity of the wet well and stages pumps on and off. This control allows for faster response to rapid changes in the inflow.
